Today's the day
the quiet car ride
to the place of sadness
our goodbyes are real this time
there she goes on the rolling bed
away like a migrating bird
the beeping fills my brain
mimicry is her smile
closer to God she goes
then God gives her back
like a soldier from war
thoughts are like hurricanes
running through my brain
tears run down my face
waves to others
tears to me
tears run down
uncontrollably
