“Mirror Image”

Once I knew of a towering goddess,
pale complexion, mane of sleek raven hair.
People found solace as she was modest,
everyone knew she was terribly fair.
Each day I would face the mirror and smile,
in return the goddess would flash a grin.
I envied her fun trend-setting lifestyle,
and wished to cease life as wolf in sheepskin.
This time, however, when I saw myself,
no longer could I see all of my flaws.
I saw the goddess, perfection itself,
eyes wouldn't close, above my hanging jaw.
Elation filled my heart, flowing through cracks,
“She's me,” I thought, and there are no drawbacks.
